Marrying Joy and Celebrating Life!

Come celebrate with me...it's my birthday and this year I will be marrying my joy. There will be toning/singing, dancing, sacred ceremony, poetry, ocean, tarot reading, hot tubbing, sleeping over, licking of dessert plates, flowers, dressing up from silly to elegant, cartwheeling, fire, and anything that makes us joyful! Bring your instruments and your inspirations and above all else...bring your joy.

We will be exploring the senses with sound, touch, savory food, eye candy, wonderful smells and more so bring something to stimulate the senses!

No presents please, just your presence.

My marriage to joy and birthday were incredible.
The following are my vows to joy:
I promise to look for you within me forever more.
I promise to know that you are mine and mine alone, and the joy that others feel is their's and their's alone.
I promise to look for you and the yumminess in any situation, and go toward that.
I promise to know in my heart that everyone else is also trying ot find their joy.
I promise to look for and see the amazing qualities of each person I meet and also know those qualities are also reflected somewhere in me.
I promise to pay close attention to my body, for it is the only indicator of my joy.
I promise to see myself as an adventurer looking for my treasure.
I promise to stay focused on the beauty of life, and not get too caught inside my head.
I promise to know that when I'm not feeling in my joy, that it is only so that I may know you again more deeply than before.

I, Joy, promise to be here always for you, you only have to look and ask for me.

Horray for the most magical birthday ever. 22 people showed up...my favorite lucky number is 2 and what could be better than one 2 but two twos. Including me, there were 23 people there, which is the next most magical number since my age this year is 34 and I'm all about sequences of numbers this year.
I brough costumes and everyone dressed up, I wore my blue wig with my blue dress and underneath my hot pink tank bra...all my core colors that express me in all my glory...clear aqua blue as blue as the sky and the ocean and hot pink for sassiness, fun and excitment.
We started by eating the wonderful feast my mom had created and waited for everyone to arrive. After dinner we began the ceremony. Rosa, was the master of ceremonies and we all called in the directions and elements for creating sacred space together. She had brought hand fans for air, candles for fire, seeds and flowers for earth, and water balloons for water. Each group got to create the way they would call in the direction and each was marvellous in their oun right. Then it was my turn to call in center and I read my vows to joy. I kissed myself, then everyone came up and kissed me...it was awesome. Then Rosa passed around golden rings and everyone made a wish for joy into the ring and linked them together, which I now wear around my neck. Rosa opened up the circle for anyone to join in and Eric recited two poems...one by Rumi and the other Hafiz. He also recited one while Serena and I danced together in an improvisational outburst of love. She also recited a poem for me. Talya presented her delectible Misha truffles and there were the perfect amount for each person. Jenna sang a song, Meg sang Unwritten (our theme song for Hawaii) and Eric instigated an awesome improve game where one person would start a movement and sound then pick another person and they would copy it and then transform it into their own and so on. For the grand finally Meg led a sounding circle of appreciation for me where I sat in the middle and everyone laid down with their heads toward me. It was amazing as I looked around and touched each of my dear friends. We closed the circle and began the dessert eating and dancing.
Other highlights were the pink and black polka-dot tank top Talya made me with the duck barrets. All the flowers that I'm still enjoying in my little house. And the incredible oil essence of Joy that Tricia made for me. YUM.
Hottubbing, sleepover, breakfast, beach/forest walking, and Chinese New Year were all super fun. I'm still reeling from all the joy filled love that was exchanged.
